Well I am Brongaar, and I am a Brony... wierd thing that the name worked out.. I have had the name since 1996, back when I was heavily into Transformers, GI Joe.. typical guy stuff.. and in college, acually a tech school. (wonder if my creds are still good).
Pony for me is this... A show where the art is simple, the stories complex enough to keep the adults entertained, and fun enough to keep the kids glued errr... bad pun... to the stories. That attracts all the ADD/ ADHD set as well. As an artist, I am interested in the artwork, and the sheer transparency of the staff at StudioB and Lauren Faust, to show aspiring artists and fans on how the process works...
I was a tech head as a kid.. and acually tore apart a B&W TV to see where these cartoons came from, that resulted in an upgrade to a Color TV and a hard lesson from my Dad... and a small tour of the GE plant where the TV tubes are made.
I am a Furry as well, Equine Furry.. that is the connection with Pony and the artwork. I do go to conventions, draw, and be entertained by folks in mascot costumes. With these Bronies out there fairly easy to spot, but I try to keep my interest low-key because of my current profession.
The Equine thing can be traced back to Sasha, a QH mare that my aunt had, and my work with Camelot Horse Center (being run by a very cute blonde). The form I use for my character is 30/30 from the Bravestarr series (Hooves and hands).
I hope that clears things up about my interest on Pony.
